About the poet:  Monique earned a B.A. in English Lit. from Northeastern University and a M.A. in English from Northern Arizona University. She has lived all over the US and worked as a Technical Writer,Tech. Pubs. Manager and Content Developer. She is the former Copy Editor of Ragazine.  She is the happily married wife of retired Marine and Science Fiction Author, Patrick T. German, the mother of two youngsters and many poems. Her poetry has appeared in the anthology, "e, the Emily Dickinson Award Anthology Best Poems of 2001," and journals such as Rosebud, Ellipsis, California Quarterly, Kalliope, High Grade, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Calyx, The Ledge,  AssissiThe Sierra Nevada Review,  Xenith, The Innisfree Poetry Journal , Atticus Review , Canary , Tampa Review0-Dark-Thirty, Glass: A Journal of PoetryOff the Coast, OccuPoetry, and The WayfarerHer first book manuscript, Despite the Bars, was a finalist for the 2015 Quercus Review Press Book Award. Her chapbook manuscript, Hopiate, was an honorable mention in the 2017 Homebound Publications Chapbook Prize.
